Department of Management
The department of management, directly governed by the managing director (and deputy managing director and consultants in different areas) is responsible for codifying grand strategies and annual plans of the company, in fully organized coordination with other departments. Holding monitoring committees and reviewing the accuracy of the previously done activities and level of achievements of plans and probable deviations from these activities are among other responsibilities of this department. Considering Nolan’s special outlook to customers, codifying grand strategies and operational plans of the organization are governed by the managing director, in order to support the rights of consumers and their benefits, which are actually the main assets of the company.
Department of Local Trade
The main goal of the establishment of department of sales at Nolan Co, is to create and maintain a system to control sales to customers, complying with their needs and to prevent any dissatisfaction, losses and future problems with customers, resulting from sales contracts and to make sure of the definition and meeting the needs of the contract, finally leading to contracts with customers. The main activity of sales department at Nolan Livestock and Agricultural Group is to sell and to provide after-sales services for specialized products in livestock industry, to market products, to check all sales offers from customers which result into official sales contracts and MOMs and to issue proforma invoices. In some cases, this department is responsible to receive orders on the phone, or via facsimile, through which the customers can also benefit specialized consultations.
Department of Consultant Engineers
This department is cooperating with a group of experts and professors in livestock farming, agriculture, civil engineering and construction, water and soil, mechanics, and project planning in three sections of project consultation, design and management, to provide consultancy engineering services including basic and preliminary studies, architectural and construction designs, project execution planning in rearing dairy cows and also to provide consultancy services in livestock sciences and modern nutrition systems, genetics, breeding, hygiene and veterinary and dairy farm integrated management and to ensure quality of milk production. The department has based its activities on its long-lasting experience in rearing dairy cows and with reliance on modern livestock sciences and in connection with prominent research centers, institutes and universities from around the world, in order to provide consultation, design and supervision services on construction of dairy farms. Basic engineering designs include preliminary studies, decision-taking sessions, preliminary designs, facilities of a system and complementary engineering services including civil, construction and facilities designs.
Department of Quality Management
Nola Co. has found itself motivated to receive ISO 9001:2000 certificate, considering the ever-increasing importance of quality management systems in advancement of quality control politics. The company is now implementing the design, codification and establishment of quality management systems, in compliance with ISO 9001 standards. Nolan’s quality politics are based on continuous improvement of activities and products, for which the objectives are as follows:
- Customer orientation: Identifying needs and expectations of customers and trying to increase their satisfaction
- Continuous improvement: Meeting the requirements and continuous improvement of quality management system efficacy
- Standardization: Manufacturing products according to global standards and customers’ requirements
- Updating: Achieving up-to-date information and technologies and using them to manufacture products with better quality
- Marketing: Developing local and foreign markets
- Education: Continuous training of personnel, in order to upgrade technical knowledge and skills, organizational culture and to create customer-orientation spirit among employees
- After-Sales Services: Providing after-sales services in the shortest time possible, with assured quality to lower the malfunction period of equipment and to provide maintenance and repair activities
All managers and supervisors are responsible for the realization of company’s quality policies by all their staff and shall ensure their availability. Also, top managers shall be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of quality management systems and are committed to the execution of company’s quality policies. In this regard, the managers shall invest in company’s human resources, to create friendship and cooperation spirit among all staff. Thus, the quality control manager is chosen as representative to management and all staff are asked for cooperation, in order to establish, maintain and improve the quality management system. This policy will be revised in appropriate periods of time to ensure its consistency.
Department of Technical and Engineering Services
Nolan’s department of technical and engineering services is established to improve the country’s technical knowledge and industrial capacities and to transfer technologies in design and manufacturing of various equipment and machineries in livestock industry. The company is benefitting expert personnel, who has already passed necessary training courses and is relying on the establishment of quality management systems and environmental management, according to ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 standards and is supervising fully on quality management in order to create quality and quantity accordance with global criteria in livestock industry.
Department of Informatics
Nolan’s department of informatics is focusing on implementation and improvement of security factors, development of company’s software and hardware networks and linking this department to other sectors in order to provide and acquire the latest, the most comprehensive and the most precise categorized consensus and information for appropriate decision-making by top managers and the personnel, finally targeting at providing more convenient services to customers. All departments, users and computer systems, who play a role in providing, processing and preserving valuable information, are linked to the department of informatics. Sales and support services for Unfiorm Agri software, as one of the most comprehensive herd management software, and Nedap software as the comprehensive milking software are among the main activities of this department. Another main activity by department of informatics is to manage information for the establishment and setting up the DHI organization, as the first center for the improvement and management of dairy herds in Iran, responsible to provide relevant consultation and specialized services.
Department of Research and Development
Development of competitive markets around the world has greatly affected the economy of developing countries. The necessity to provide superior products and services by big to medium sized manufacturing and services companies in these countries has also highlighted the necessity of establishing research and development departments. With above definition, only companies will win the competition which have implemented technology and knowledge to manufacture products with high level of quality and innovation and are responsive to their customers’ daily needs. Considering the outlook of economists to research and development as an important source for economic growth, the act can play a great role in the quality of people’s living condition. Department of Production Planning and Warehouse Affairs
Department of production planning and warehouse affairs is focusing on transportation, warehousing, packaging, maintenance and delivery of products, in a way not to damage them. The domain of this activity is including all products, raw materials and necessary equipment and planning and warehouse manager is responsible for that at Nolan Group. Warehouses for raw material, finished products, spare parts and semi-developed parts are built and managed individually at Nolan Co. with compliance to the latest global standards for maintenance of customers’ required products. Activities including the entrance of commodity to the warehouse, sending out products from the warehouse, maintenance and categorization of products, controlling maintenance condition and warehouse functions and interval inspections according to periodic inspection format are done by planning manager, in cooperation with quality control department. Manufacturing of products according to production and control standards are among the responsibilities of the manager and other staff from this department.
Department of Finance and Administration
Department of finance and administration is responsible to record and control all financial activities of the company. This department is equipped with an advanced financial software and is playing an important role in the company, with its expert staff to handle financial planning activities of the company, in order to perform financial commitments and to ensure the accuracy of financial activities.
Department of After-Sales Services
Regarding today’s growth of global competitive markets and their impact on a nation’s economy and focusing on manufacturing and services companies to provide superior services, the necessity of designing and manufacturing consistent automated systems in management of after-sales services has been doubled. The main objective of establishment of after-sales services is to provide organized services at a competitive price and quality, to facilitate provision of services, to standardize services with regard to the variety, to upgrade technologies and to connect customers by reflecting their problems, points of views, and their requirements, in order to improve after-sales services and to better meet the needs of customers. After-sales services are among the main services that companies are responsible to offer to their customers, once the sales are realized. Provision and management of after-sales services, directly starting after the product is delivered to the customers includes controlling and maintenance of customers’ information (type of product and service purchased, time and type of contract, …) allocating identification numbers such as subscription, invoice, contract and warranty card numbers and managing the provision of services to the client based on afore-mentioned identification numbers. Managers at Nolan Group believe innovation in approaches and also the quality of services offered can improve satisfaction level among clients. In this regard, an automatic system is applied to manage after-sales services and to decrease human interference and probability of mistakes and delays.
